Retro Basketball Association Rules
Retro Basketball Association
Difficulty: Hall of Fame
Quarter Length: 12 Minutes
- This is a realistic sim league, if you don't see it in real life, you shouldn't do it on 2K.
- You should stay in the 50% range for PIP (Points in the Paint)
- Fastbreaks, you can push the rock off long rebounds when it makes sense with numbers, ex. 2 on 1. 3 on 2 ect.
DO NOT ABUSE FAST BREAKS fastbreaking after every rebound will not be tolerated. However you can fastbreak on PG or SG rebounds, but you have to wait until you cross halfcourt to pass. Also you can fastbreak off of steals and blocks.
- DO NOT STEAL AFTER BASKET INBOUND PASSES.
- Players should not be averaging more than 30 shots per game.
- NO Turbo in the half court set tot try and get a shot off. If you pumpfake and your opponent jumps you can go in for the dunk. But you should never turbo around a guy to get a shot off.
- You may pause at the beginning of the game to adjust strategy. You may not pause in the middle of the game to check stats or change plays or adjust strategy.
- NO FLASH PAUSING DURING GAMES, NO PAUSING DURING GAMEPLAY, NO CHANGING SETTINGS DURING GAMEPLAY (CALL A TO)
- NO QUITTING DURING GAMES
PLAYER POSITIONS
- You can only play players at there primary or secondary positions. If you play a player out of position he will be suspended next game.
- Make sure your bench is getting a good amount of minutes work your rotation. Unless overtime is involved, playoffs is a different story.
- Spread the ball don't let 2 players on your team average all your shots.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OFFENSE
- Stay around 50% PIP (Fast Breaks will be deducted from overall PIP)
- Play NBA Style take advantages of mismatches, take what the defense gives you.
- You don't have to run plays every time down but 60-75% of your offense should be ran through sets and plays.
- Do not abuse sets, do not run a certain set more than 3x in a row.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DEFENSE
- 100% ON-BALL DEFENSE.
- You may play zone, but not a whole quarter switch it up. MAN UP!
- No full court press/trap unless down in the 4th
- Double teams are allowed but should not be abused.
